Unknown BSI load and length

Home Owner from US
One of the channel balances decided to eat itself and I pulled it out to replace it. I've got 2 main snags.

1. I measured the metal channel and they are both 22" long, but the number stamped at the bottom says "27". I'm guessing I need to buy replacements that are 22, but can anyone confirm?

2. I don't know what the weight load for the channel balances needs to be. The top sash weighs 24lbs so logically I assume that the load for each balance need to be ~12-15lbs to keep the sash in place when the window is open, but I'm not sure.

Any help would be much appreciated.

Thanks!

Hello,

Your photos remind me of the S370-22 at first glance but the top fitting is winged. I'd recommend checking the other side or an identical window that uses the same balances to determine if the assembly shown in your photos may be damaged.

If not, we can supply these balances with the 19-011 top fitting but it would need to be a custom order. Note that the minimum order is two since it is important to replace both balances at the same time to avoid uneven support and potential damage to the window.

It also looks like your balance is stamped with 21 9. If so, it is from an outdated weight system that is no longer used. If your sash weighs exactly 24 pounds, you would need 2150 strength options to support a sash between 23-27 lbs. Keep in mind that both balances need to be calibrated to support the full weight of the sash.
