Unnamed Window Latches

A home owner from Lake Forest, IL says:
Hi!

We are renovating our home, which was built in 1938. We are having difficulty finding matches for these. Are you able to help us identify them and hopefully purchase more?

Thank you!

These are extremely old casement window locks. I don't know if we have anything that can replace these, but I can try my best to find something.

Before we start, can you show me a picture of the keeper that this lock hooks onto? Can you also remove one and show me its underside? Finally, what are its dimensions? I'd like to know the overall width/height/thickness, as well as the distance between each pair of screw holes.

I don't want to get your hopes up; these are extremely old windows and there's a good chance we won't have anything. But I think it's worth looking into anyway, just in case I can dig something up.

Hey there!

Firstly, thank you so much for your response. Secondly, the Lodge part of our home was actually built in 2006 so I don't know if that hardware is necessarily 80-years-old. The screws on the handle-side are 2.5" apart, and the screws on the latch-side are 1.5" apart. Attached are some images, please let me know if you need anything else... it appears that we need 7 of them.

Best, always?

Hey, Jordan, thanks for getting back to us. I think I can be of some help.

We don't carry these locks and, like Tom said, I don't believe their even still available. Instead, take a look at the 38-097 and opposite hand 38-098. I wonder if you could adapt this type of lock to your window using a new 38-079 keeper. My logic is, as long as you have the right keeper to lock to, then the only thing you have to worry about then is whether or not they'll fit in the space available.

Take a look at the dimensions we show on the 38-097 or 38-098 store pages to see if you could use this type.
