Using foam spline to replace rigid spline

A quick learner from Michigan says:

in measuring my Anderson window screen rigid spline was used. I can not find new replacement spline. I am thinking about using foam spline. the spline pocket measures .200 wide X .300 deep.

can I use foam as a replacement and if so would I use .250 dia. foam???

Thank you

Marlon

Paul from SWISCO responded:

Hello,

The 59-250 foam spline has been used for the old Andersen screens in the past. The foam spline is soft and cushioned enough to give a good tight lock on the screen wire in the channel. Thanks for posting!
