Vent Lock

Question

My current sash locks are the kind that stay pushed in. My inspector failed me and said that we need to put in spring loaded ones that do not lock in. My opening in the window is 2 inches tall by 1/4 inch wide. Do you know of any products that will meet his requirements?

The hung window vent latch shown in your photos resembles the 26-122. With that being said, the sash opening dimensions differ slightly from the measurements you provided. Review the images below to confirm if this could work as a replacement. This is a spring-loaded latch that is pushed into the housing and then pushed in again to release it, which is how most vent latches are designed. Thanks for posting!
