I have a customer who has double hung windows made by Vinyl Concepts. He is looking for replacement balance parts. The balance has cords with what looks like a pulley system. I've never seen them before. Also can I use a different balance system if I can't find the original system ?

Hi Garry,

It looks like your customers have old-style rod balances that are no longer available. With that being said, we should be able to recommend a replacement but we would need to see the end of the balance fully removed from the window to determine how it connects with the bottom corner of the window sash. Thank you!

Thanks for getting back to us! The balance hook shown n your photo indicates that you would need the S775 channel balance for your repair. You'll need to replace the balances on both sides and measure the length of an undamaged balance to choose the correct length for your replacements. You'll also need to weight your window sash and measure the width of your balance hook to choose the correct strength options and fitting. Thank you!
