Vinyl Exterior Wenco Windows Slam Shut
The issue is that four windows slam shut, so they appear to be out of balance. The window PN is G1408556694398.
My interest is in purchasing replacement parts, but also if there is someone to recommend in the area to do the actual replacement.
Yep, if the windows close after being opened then the problem is probably the balance. I'm afraid I cannot identify what you have based on these photos, though. I can't see your balances. Would it be possible to remove them so we can see them out of the window? At the very least, I would like a clear shot of them even still installed so we can get an idea of what you may be working with. Thank you!
I'm afraid I still cannot identify what you have. It looks like you have a wood sash, though, looking at the first picture. Is that correct, or are my eyes playing tricks on me? If so, then you may need to replace the entire jamb liner.
Many older wood windows don't use regular balance systems like our channel balances or spiral balances. Instead, the jamb liner quite literally is the balance itself. Look inside your jamb track and see if there's just a naked spring running the length of it. If so, then my suspicions are correct.
I'm afraid we cannot replace these. Jamb liners are difficult for companies like us to supply since they have to be made to the specific size of the window. I hate to pass you off to another company when you were already passed off to us, but a local mill work should be able to help. If you bring them one of your jamb liners and the sash itself they will be able to set you up. Since they're ideally in your area, they can recommend an installer, too.
Sorry we can't be of more help!
