Vinyl window balance

A home owner from Independence, KY says:
Looking for a part to repair a vinyl tilt in window for our home. The plastic has degraded and broke when opening the window. Have been unsuccessful thus far figuring out what part I need and the procedure to replace it.

The window is ~ 20 years old. I don't see a part number or name.

Looks like you need a new pivot shoe. I recommend our 15-208. Check it out and tell me if you agree.

A home owner from Independence, KY says:
My shoe is attached to a cord. Do you have instructions on how to remove the cord from the shoe? Don't see anything similar in the video selections.

Tom from SWISCO responded:

Sure, it's just hooked on. You want to grab the hook firmly with a pair of needle nose pliers to unhook it, but make sure you keep a firm grip. The cord is likely under a lot of tension and it will snap up if you let go if it. Gently raise it up to the balance until it's fully retracted, at which point you can safely let go.
