I need to replace two 29 inch long, 3/8 inch wide spiral balancers and both 1/2 inch thick pivot shoes for one of my vinyl windows. The balancers appear to have a yellow tip, but I'm not certain of the color. See photos.
My window sash weighs 19 lbs. I'm thinking the green tipped balancers would be the best choice, since my window sash is in the mid-range of the weight the green tipped balancers can handle. Agreed?
Thanks.

Hello there, Jeff. Let's start off with your spiral balance and move on to your pivot shoe. I see that you referenced the S90-29 spiral balance. I also believe this is the correct replacement based on your photos and information. As for the tip color, you want to stick with as close to the original as possible. With your window sash being 19 pounds, and your balance having an orange tip, our red tip would make the best option. For your pivot shoe, we will need to see the part completely removed from the window. Once you have done that, we will need to see another photo of the part and have you provide the width, height, and thickness of the shoe. Take a look at the video below of one of the more common ways to remove the pivot shoe from the window. |
