Weather shield door locking mechanism

Home Owner from Boulder, Colorado

We have a Weather Shield 8-foot patio door consisting of 2 28" x 1-3/4" door panels hinged in the middle (image attached). We just purchased the home and think the door was installed in 2003. I believe the original lock was a FUHR Multipoint lockset (image attached).

We would like to replace the locking mechanism (requires moving the handle up, rotating the lock, and then depressing the handle to open/lock the door). The replacement lockset listed as a Hoppe HLS9000 Roller version Replacement Kit retails for more than $230, and similar locks on our other doors aren't reliable. The 40-049 Brass Lockset at $72.02 would be our choice to replace the FUHR because it is much less expensive, and we prefer the way it would operate.

The only question is whether the 40-049 would be a suitable replacement. Could you please comment? I've attached some additional images that I hope might be helpful.

Thanks for your help,

Steve

Hello,

I suspect that you may have a multi-point mortise lock that extends the height of the door, which is common for hinged patio doors like yours. If so, unfortunately, we do not carry a replacement handle set or lock that would work for your application. I'm sorry that we won't be able to assist with this repair but please let us know if you have any other hardware questions. Thanks for posting.
