Weather stripping for old builder window

Handy Person from San Antonio
Hello! I saw that you answered some questions on old builder windows, specifically a metal spring non-tilt window. I have been searching everywhere on how to weatherstrip these windows. One specific problem I have is that the plastic piece on the edge of the bottom rail does not perfectly sit on the sill creating very large gaps for dirt and insects to enter. I am not sure if it had weather stripping below it at one point in time or if it is the weather strip that has gone bad. I have tried removing it but won't come off and don't want to damage it in case it can't be replaced. Any thoughts on this situation? Any direction you can give me on missing parts of replacement will be very helpful! Thank you!

Thanks for reaching out. Based on the given photos, I am not able to identify the replacement hardware you need and depending on exactly how old the window is, it may very well not be made anymore.

Since this is a builder's grade window it may also be the case that it's not meant to be removed. However, that does not mean its impossible, it just means it will be hard.

To determine the best possible replacement we'll need to see a photo of the end profile of the weather stripping.

Is it possible for you to get a photo of the end profile view of your window hardware? This will be the only way that we can properly identify any replacement recommendations we might be able to make.
