Weather stripping makes window stick on Jeld Wen window

Handy Person from Minneapolis

I recently purchased some Jeld-wen windows. On one of the double hung windows, the bubble weather stripping sticks out a bit and makes the window difficult to open. I called the retailer and they sent me to Jeld -Wen. They seemed familiar with the problem, but want me to fill out a report to decide what they will do to remedy it. It seems like it's probable just an inexpensive replacement part, so I'd rather not have a big hassle. Can you see from the attached pictures if you carry the part? It's a 24 1/4x 46 double hung "beat" quality window.

Thanks!

Chuck

Hey Chuck. I think we may be able to help. Without a clearer picture of the end profile I can't be certain, but I am wondering if this has a similar design to a T-Slot Foam seal like our 58-171, 58-183 or 58-182. See the diagrams below and let me know if any of these match what you need. If not, please send us a clearer picture of the cross-section view, along with dimensions, and we'll try and find something better for you.

I think the 58-182 may work. I will enclose two additional photos which may help. How do I go about ordering that piece?

I'm afraid I can't make out your precise dimensions from this photo to verify. As long as our dimensions are the same as yours then it should work.

All orders can be placed directly on our site at your convenience.

Need a replacement for the bottom weather stripping for my vinyl double hung Mi windows 1450 series. I see you have an exact match but can't decide which size I need, the 58-171 or the 58-182. The t-slot measures 4/16 of an inch. I have no other way to measure it. Please advise.

I'm afraid I can't really tell you which weatherstripping is best based on these photos. This is a very precise measurement, and a photo of a tape measure is unfortunately not enough for me to make a suggestion. Your only option is to measure it as precisely and carefully as you can and use your best judgment.
