My weatherstripping appears to be 1/4 inch base and the best I tell 1/4 inch height with plastic in the middle. Certainteed windows.
I've also got a bathroom window where the upper section will not stay up. I have attached a picture of the mechanism I think may be the issue, can you help me with this part or suggestions.

Hello, Ron. It sounds like you need new weatherstripping and a new balance. Let's start with the weatherstripping first, since that's easy.
I can't tell what yours is from these photos, unfortunately. I can only tell you that it is a type of wool pile. You will need to remove an undamaged sample and get careful measurements of it. Then, match it up to those samples we show here to see if any of our sizes align.
As for the balance, that's a whole other kettle of fish. In order to narrow down the list of possible replacements, can you please show me a picture of the pivot shoe to which the coil springs attach? Can you also tell me how thick the spring is?
