Weird old window balancer

A contractor from Portland, OR says:
26" long 5/8" diameter. Wooden window frame probably built in the early 60s. Not sure if it is a block and tack, spiral, or channel type. Fits into groove on side of window. Metal piece slides up and down and is screwed into frame. Unable to find any numbers or letters on balancer. I have more pictures if it would identify the darn thing.

Hello there!

This is an old spiral balance that isn't made anymore but we like to recommend the Series 500 and 17-012 bracket as a replacement. You would also need to weigh the sash on a scale and refer to the weight chart under the product description to determine the correct color tip option. Take a look and see what you think.
