What does this latch close onto?

40-150, What does the latch close onto? The old latch used a spring loaded vertical bar about 2" long and about 1/8" in diameter. Is it supposed to be solid? Thanks

The 40-150 is pretty versatile and is made to work on a few different kinds of doors. Sometimes it works with a keeper, sometimes it works with the frame. What you describe sounds like a keeper. Is it something like our 40-081? If so, the 40-150 handle should interact with it perfectly fine.
