What parts needed to repair?

Hello! Our screw plug actually won't work in this instance for the exact reason you outlined: our 26-200 is square, while your hole is round. That said, we can custom make a balance for you that has a hook at the top. This is pretty routine so it shouldn't be an issue.

Can you just tell me how many you needed? Can you also show me a photo of the shoe? If not from this balance, perhaps its partner, or from an identical window in the house? There are several different options for this shoe and they are not interchangeable. Seeing yours will allow me to determine what type you need.

Yes, as long as the windows are otherwise identical then that is a safe assumption.

These look like the 1-1/4" wide variety, though you may want to remove this shoe from the window and measure it just to be safe. There's a 1" wide variety as well.

As for the shoe, assuming that you have the 1-1/4" wide version then that would be the 15-195. However you should still measure your original to be sure that size is correct. At this stage it's still just an educated guess on my part.

What you have to do is unscrew the balance at the top (first making sure that the cord is fully retracted, of course), then tilt the balance in to as close to 90 degrees as you can manage. It should tilt easily though on some windows it's a bit of a tight fit.

Once the balance is tilted in to close to 90 degrees, you can just twist it to get the shoe out. The goal is to get the "ears" of the shoe out sideways.
