Wheels

Quick Learner from California
The attached pix shows the wheels (removed from the Door). This wheel is the 'good' wheel; it has the white plastic 'thingie' on it.......the baf wheel is missing that....it broke off.....and now the wheel will not cooperate and move the door smoothly.......We cannot figure out what part this white plastic thingie plays in making it go smoothly, but it apparently does.
Apparently, there is no exact replacement.
Is there a substitute?

Hi there!

I'm afraid we don't carry that white piece. However, we've recommended our 23-041 to customers with your older Stanley roller in the past. Take a look and compare our dimensions to your existing part to confirm that this will make a good replacement for your closet door.

Thank you. What does the white plastic thing do anyway? It seems to be the only thing "missing" on one of the rollers and the door wouldn't roll steady....
Do I need two matching new rollers? Or can i use one of the old rollers?

The white piece is an old stabilizing clip. Stanley used to make the 23-041 roller with that white clip, but over the years they decided that it wasn't a necessary piece for the roller to function and phased it out. If you think you need it for your door to work, your best bet would be to check a local Mom and Pop shop.

You can reuse your old rollers, but if one broke from wear and tear then the other rollers probably aren't far behind.
