Which stamp option do I choose?

Quick Learner from Van Nuys
I am having difficulty knowing which stamp option to choose depending on my window. Does it deal with my window weight or what the channel balance can hold?

The stamp code indicates the weight range that the balances are designed to support. So, balances stamped 26-5 conform to our stamp option of 2650, which indicates balances meant to support a window sash in the weight range of 26 through 30 pounds. This information is based on two balances per sash.

Note that channel balances stamped 26-5 typically have metal channel lengths of 27", not 26". Let us know if you need any assistance identifying the right replacements, as stamps only refer to the spring calibration, not the identity.

Thank you for your reply. From what I gathered, the info given by the pictures suggests I get a 27" 2650 option rod. Saying that the spring calibration for my window holds 26-30 pounds.

Am I getting that right?

That's correct; but let's take a step back. There's plenty of channel balances that are 27" long and use the stamp code 2650. The balance's size and spring calibration doesn't tell us its identity. The identity is determined by the nylon fittings on either end of the metal channel. If you're still uncertain of this, send us photos of the fittings on both ends, and we'll do our best to find what you need. Many thanks.
