Would replacing a broken 3340 with a 3350 be a better option? Or should I stick with the 3340?

The window was very difficult to open and close so I was wondering if one made for a heavier window would be a better choice?

I would double check the exact weight of your sash. That will tell you for sure what you need. It is definitely possible to have a spring that is too strong, so you have to be careful. Stronger isn't always better.
