What is the width of the base for the handle? Also will it work with a 5/16 spindle?
thanks

Thanks for posting! The total width of the base of the 40-150 is approximately 2-1/2".
As for the spindle size, the 40-150 is specifically made for two spindle sizes and the 5/16" is not one of them. If you were to remove the spindle insert, the 40-150 can accommodate a 3/8" spindle. Your 5/16" would fit, but it would be lose. This may impact your handle's functionality.

Hi Paul, thank you for your response, my old handle is straight on the sides of the base and does not have the curved section, it is 1.5 inches wide and 2.5 tall. The door only has about 2.5 inches between the window the edge of the door was why I was checking the width. Do you have any thing that has a base that measure approx 1.5 wide of less and 2.5 high.
thanks again
thanks again

I'm sorry, I think I was a little confused. Are you measuring the handle vertically? If so, then I was measuring your height. Please see the image below for detailed measurements of the base.2788
Please also keep in mind that the most important measurements of the 40-150 inside handle are the distance between the screw hole centers.
