Will 23-099 keep my bifold door from slipping from the track

Home Owner from Raphine, Va.

One of our bedrooms has one large closet and one small. The small closet has a bi-fold door 48" wide (total for both panels) and when opened the top guide at the opened edge comes out of the track. It is easy to slide back in when closing but I would like to repair it. We have tried raising the bottom mount on the opposite side but there is no mount to raise on the side that slips out of the upper track.

My question is: do you think that part 23-099 added to the middle of our wood bi-fold closet door would stop it from slipping from the top track? Or would you recommend something else to solve the problem?

I'm not sure if adding an additional guide would fix your problem. The first guide shouldn't be slipping out to begin with. I would instead check the condition of the track to see if there's any damage or bend that would be allowing the guide you have now to slip out. Also check the condition of the door itself. It may be the door is forcing the guide out for whatever reason, but I'm not sure.

If everything seems to be in good condition then I'm not sure what the issue may be. I'd like to see some photos of the door, guides, and track to see what we're dealing with. I may have some more ideas.
