Will 82-400 work on my 1986 Atrium door?

Home Owner from Edgewater. MD
I have wood Atrium doors from 1986 and two of the mechanisms are not working well. On the metal piece facing the jamb it says THE ATRIUM DOOR. From the description and the measurements it sounds as if this product is just what I want to replace them. I have not started unscrewing anything to pull out the existing mechanism as it is very cold here. My question: Is this BRASS ATRIUM DOOR LEVER LOCKSET Product Code: 82-400 indeed a replacement for such old doors? And, if so, should I be able to do this myself? I am reasonable adept at small repairs!

My existing Atrium door hardware is 8-1/4 X 1-3/16 inches. The door is 1-3/4 inch thick. If this replacement fits, Is this a smooth operation of simply unscrewing and removing the existing non-functioning mechanism and replacing it with a new one? If no other drilling, etc. is needed, I should be able to do this myself. Would you agree that most people could????

With thanks - Marianne

The 82-400 can be used with some older Atrium doors. However, without seeing your existing handle it is hard for me be sure. If the dimensions and style appear to match your hardware, then I think it's a good place to start. I've replaced old Atrium locksets with this in the past and it worked, but just keep in mind it's not universal.
