Winding mechanism

Quick Learner from Lincoln, NE
Hello,

The handle that you hold onto to open and close the window keeps coming off even when it's tightened. The threads on the "screw" it attaches to seems to be stripped. Is there any way to replace the whole part?

Thanks, Karen

Hello,

If the spline that the handle attaches to is stripped, you'll need to replace the operator assembly. If you could open the window and show us the arms that move the window sash, we should be able to recommend a replacement for you. Thank you!

Yes, the threads are stripped. I already replaced the winder once and it doesn't stay in place, which is how the threads are stripped. Yes, I will need to replace the whole mechanism. Here's a pic of what you requested.

Looking forward to hearing from you soon.

Great, take a look and compare our 39-083 awning window operator, along with the 39-114L handle, to yours. Thanks for posting!
