Window Spring doesn't stay in place

Handy Person from Park city ut

I have a window that the side spring doesn't stay in place and the sash is cracked on the lower pane. The tag inside reads

Aama/nwwda 101/I.S. 2-97

Vx 1

H-LC30-48x84

H-LC30-96x72(mull)

I think if I could just get the window part with the side springs I could just replace that and not have to mess with the frame. If that enough info? I did measure the inside window pane and frame part and that was approximately 34x36"

Thanks

Thanks for posting. It sounds like you need to replace your window balances. We can help you do this, but we will need to see pictures of your window balances, preferably removed from the window if possible. From there, we'll see what we can do for you. Many thanks.

Well, I admit I'm a little confused now. I thought before that you weren't able to remove your balances, but your new photos show the balances removed after all. Can you go into more detail on what the problem is? I don't think I'm understanding you correctly.

Itheres only one balance and it won't stay in place, Maybe because there's only one balance. There's also a crack at the top in the sash, I believe is what it's called

What do you mean when you say it won't stay in place? What precisely does that entail? That could mean a lot of things. Is it shooting to the top of the track past the top sash guide? Is it falling down from the bottom? Is it wiggling from side to side?

Gotcha, thank you. There should definitely be two balances, yes. It sounds to me like the missing balance has created extra space and caused the sash to shift to one side, allowing the remaining balance poke up. This should be easily solved by simply adding a new balance.

Based on your photos, you have either our Series 351 or Series 390 channel balance. The only difference between them is the style of the shoe; the Series 351 uses our 15-002 while the Series 390 uses our 15-001. We have detailed dimensions on our site that you can use as a reference.

It's pokes up above the window about 1/2". Should there be two balances?
