Window Balance

A handy person from Culver City, CA says:
Hi I have Milgard windows where I need to replace the balances, take-out clips, and shoes. Balance is 27" long and says 26 5 FS Caldwell on it. Can you please help me identify which replacement balance I would need? Thank you.

Based on your photos, you have either our S380-27 or S385-27. The only difference between them is the size of the bottom fitting, which is indicated on their respective store pages. You'll need to measure your bottom fitting to confirm which one is the better match.

Hi.
I also need to replace the shoe. Which shoe would be the best fit (pun intended)? Thanks.

Tom from SWISCO responded:

That depends on the depth. As indicated by the diagram above, the shoe is either the 15-005 or 15-004.

A handy person from Culver City, CA says:
Got it. I'm looking for the portion that connects to the window itself. Pictures are attached. Some sites seem to call that a "shoe". I think they may be called Top Sash Channel Balance Guides? Would you know which one would be compatible with the balances you've mentioned? Thank you.

Tom from SWISCO responded:

Yes, this part is called a top sash guide. Yours in particular is a match for our 18-171.

Great. Thank you.
