Window Balance

A handy person from California says:
My window balance channel length is 28 5/8" Should I use a 28" or 29" balance. Also how do I determine the bottom shoe depth? Do I measure the entire plastic shoe from top to bottom? Trying to decide which one I need, the 380 or the 385

Thanks for posting. I am actually not certain this is a stock balance like the Series 385, as a length ending in a X-5/8" increment tends to suggest this might be a special type of balance. May we see pictures of the nylon fittings on both ends of the metal channel, as well as any stamp code on the metal channel? If there is a hook that comes out of the bottom nylon shoe, such as our 62-108 or 62-106, I'd like to see that as well. From there we'll do our best to narrow this down for you. Thanks.
