Window Balance

A handy person from California, USA says:

Hello,

I have a Jeld-Wen window single hung, 41" W by 53" H

I only have one broken balance for the window. Attached in the pictures.

It seems to be type A. The metal part length is 22" 5/8. Kind of an odd number...

Would a regular type A balance 22" or 24" work? What type of type A balance would work?

I need help!

Regards,

Eric

Hello! I'm actually not familiar with what a Type A balance might be. That's not a designation we use for these. If it's a code from another company then it wouldn't be relevant to us.

We can supply the parts you show in these photos, but they'll have to be a custom order due to their configuration. What you have here is an extended travel channel balance. The given length is definitely odd for more standard configurations, but for the extended travel 22-5/8" is exactly right.

Before we get started, I just needed a little more information. Specifically I'd like a clear picture of the metal clip at the end of the cord. I can just about make it out in your photo but it's still a little unclear. There are multiple variations so seeing it will eliminate several items from the list of possible replacements.

I'd also like you to confirm the stamp printed on the metal channel and how many you needed to buy.
