Window Balance

Question

Dual hung window (up/down) won't stay open. When I open the window it comes falling down immediately, it's a heavy and hard drop. I suspect the balance needs to be replaced but know what which to order. also open to having a handy man do the repairs. Same issue on 3 bedroom windows.

Your spiral balance resembles the S900 or S600, depending on whether the housing tube measures 3/8" or 5/8" in diameter.
