Window Balance Spring Replacements

Home Owner from Puerto rico
I have had these parts replaced by our condo handyman, but the springs are the only thing that is rusting. Are there any springs with stainless or heavy duty aluminum springs? And how do I ensure I get the right length? The stamp on the current is 2230 but it was just matched up side by side what it "should fit"

Thanks for contacting SWISCO. The truth is no company that makes better springs for their window balances than another company. Additionally, these springs cannot be replaced separately; when they break, the whole balance must be replaced. But a new channel balance should last a good while if it is the right match for the window sash.

The proper way to ensure the right length is to take the balance originally in the window and measure the metal channel, but not including the attachments at either end of the channel. I see you were looking at our S385-23. A length of 23" corresponds with your stamp of 2230; so if 23" was the length of your old balance, you should be on the right track.
