Window Balance (no numbers)

Quick Learner from Dublin, CA
I looked everywhere and there are no numbers printed or etched. The balances are from around 2001. It measures 30 inches just the metal part and the window it lifts we believe is 40lb so I feel like it's a 29-2. I just can't identify the top and bottom pieces. Thanks for your help

Hello there.  I am sure we can help, but first, can you show us more pictures of the balance's underside or 'guts'? Some balances from the west coast have a special design we need to account for. Once we see whether or not that is an issue here we can proceed. Thanks.

Thanks for the quick response, here are pictures of the inside. The top half is a spring and the bottom half looks like a pulley system with a hook.

Thanks for getting back to me. This looks like either an S380-30 or S385-30, depending on the depth of the bottom nylon shoe. See below. Measure your old balance's shoe depth to see what matches best.

For the stamp option, if there's no stamp on the old metal channel, weigh the window sash as accurately as possible. A bathroom scale should suffice. You can use that exact weight to choose the right stamp option, based on the charts on either the S380-30 or S385-30 shop pages.
