Window Channel Balance

A home owner from Fort Lauderdale, Florida says:
I removed a channel balance from one of my windows. It is a 31" long channel balance with a 3050 stamp. My channel balance does not have wings on the shoe or top guide. Does having wings on the balance make a difference or is this not an option for the replacement part?

There are several different replacement types listed that look similar to my channel balance, so photos are attached for proper replacement. The photos also have the measurements for the correct shoe and top guide.

This looks like either an S351-31 or S390-31. The only difference between these two balances is the 'depth' of the bottom nylon shoe, so compare both with your old hardware to see what matches best. You will need a stamp option of 3050.

As far as wings go, you really only want to use winged balances to replace old balances that also had wings. They aren't better or worse than balances with wingless fittings; it simply affects the compatibility with the window track.
