Window Install with 3" pivot bar

A quick learner from New York says:
I am replacing the spiral tilt balance, pivot shoes and pivot bars on several windows. I have the correct parts picked out to order but have one question...how do I get the window to sit in the shoes after parts are installed? The Pivot bars were rusted through on both sides of the window so the sash came right out. I don't see any openings on the shoes to slide the pivot bar in when it is tilted. If you can steer me in the right direction I would greatly appreciate it. Thanks

Thanks for posting! To install a sash back in this kind of pivot shoe, you have to do it at a sort of angle. One pivot shoe should be raised up in the track higher than the other. You put one pivot bar in the lower side first, then try to angle the other pivot bar in the higher shoe. You can see how we do it in the video below.

There's no real trick to it besides that. It can be a frustrating angle to get right on some windows, but it's the only way.
