Window Operator Repair

Quick Learner from NY

I needed to pu ll the window apart to show you that my Vetter casement window has three arms. The longest one is the main arm and it is 9 and 1/2 inches long. The other two are 7 and 1/2 inches long and the third is 5 and 1/4 inches long. Do you have a replacement part that I can use?

Thank you for your assistance.

Hi Fred,

Thanks for reaching out to us! The arms on your Vetter casement window are attached to two separate parts. The arm with the wheel on the end of it is the casement operator. This can be replaced with the 39-216 Single Arm Window Crank (the opposite version is the 39-217).

The wheel from this operator interacts with a track like the 39-505 11-3/8" EntryGard Track. I've tagged the accessories and other compatible hardware below.

The arms that are attached to the bottom of the swinging window sash are from the casement window hinge. I believe you may be able to replace the hinge with the 36-048 2-Bar Hinge Set, but you'll need to be sure to compare the dimensions. You'll especially want to confirm that the length of the track attached to the window sill is 10", as shown below.

Keep in mind, this may not be an exact match for your existing hinges, so you may need to drill new installation holes. This means you would also need to replace both the top and bottom hinges. The recommended set can be used for the left and right side of the window.
