Window Parts Inquiries

A quick learner from Orlando, FL says:
Hello,

I've got several Silver Line 2710 Series single-hung windows. I have two missions I'm trying to accomplish:

1) Replace some broken top sash guides.
Refer to the attached "Top Sash Guide.png" picture. This is a dimensional breakdown of my part, with some pictures included. I've perused through your store and can't seem to find anything identical, but a few that look close enough to do the job. Could you please provide me the best replacement part number?

2) Fix or replace very difficult channel balances.
Even with fully intact sash guides and the channel balances held in their proper positions, the windows are very difficult to close. They are fairly easy to open however. The channel balances are non-tilt, stamped "2190-32". The springs are fairly rusty but otherwise I see nothing to impede movement. Removed from the window, it is still fairly difficult to cycle the springs, even with lubrication.

I weighed the sash and it is roughly 30 lbs. I don't know whether my current channel balances are just old and need to be replaced with equally-rated ones, or if the ones I currently own have springs which are too strong. Could you advise me as to which is likely true, and recommend replacement parts? I have attached pictures as well.

Thanks!

Paul from SWISCO responded:
Hello, and thank you for writing to us. The top sash for your Silverline window is our 18-179 and the balance system is our S390-22. The spring weight option for a 30-lb. sash would be 2165 for a sash weight range between 30-34 lbs. If the oil didn't help in the balance performance, then you need new balance replacements.
