Window Replacement and Balances
Thanks for posting. I'm afraid replacing the glass won't be enough. Judging from the photos there is probably damage to the seal around the glass, and so it will just get fogged up too. You should contact a local glass shop. They will be able to replace both the glass and seal.
As for your balances, it looks like you have either our Series 351 or Series 390 Channel Balances. The only difference between the Series 351 and Series 390 is the 'depth' of the bottom nylon shoe. The Series 351 bottom nylon shoe has a depth of 1", whereas the Series 390 bottom nylon shoe has a depth of 1-1/8". Below are the dimensions of each respective shoe. Compare with your old balances and see what you think matches best.
You will need to measure the length of the metal channel, not including the nylon attachments, to determine the balance length you must select. You will also have to select a stamp option. The stamp number 2730 on your balance corresponds with our stamp option of 2730, which is for a window sash weight range of 13 through 19 lbs.
Thank you,
Larry
Hi Larry, thanks for getting back to us. Based on that length then you need either the S351-28 or the S390-28, with a stamp option of 2730. The 'depth' of the nylon shoe is basically the distance from the toe to the but of the bottom nylon attachment. In the case if the S351-28, this 'depth' is 1". With the S390-28, this is 1-1/8". See the photo below for better clarification.
