Found this part, obviously broken, in our tilt window. Not sure what it's called but there's a spring on one end and solid metal rod on the end, surrounded by a plastic tube (partially broken). I hope you can help us identify and replace!!!

Hi Kathy,
The part you're trying to replace is called a spiral balance. We can definitely help, however, there are many different kinds and I can't make yours out. Can we see a clearer photo of the end of the spiral? Thank you!
Great, If the outer tube under the white plastic casing of your balance has a diameter of 3/8", go with our S900 balance. If the diameter is 5/8", go with our S600 spiral balance.
Lastly, you'll need to measure the length of the balance without the spiral attachment and the weight of your bottom sash to choose the correct option. Thank you!
Thank you for the information. Question 1: Am I to measure the diameter inside of the plastic tube? 2: When you say 'measure the length of the balance without the spiral attachment,' are you saying I should measure the length of the plastic tubing surrounding the spiral attachment?
Kathy
Yes, Kathy, you just need to measure the tube in both of these cases. Let us know the thickness of the tube as well as the length. There will also be a colored bearing at the end of the tube. Please let us know that color.
Great, Let us know if you have any questions once your balance arrives. Thank you!
Great, thank you for your order! If you need anything else, please let us know and we'll be happy to help.
