Window are a bit heavy to pull up and down

Hello,

I need a few pairs of S385-34 with option 3340. My windows are in a very good shape but They are a bit heavy to pull them up and down. Is there another option that I can use to make it feel a bit easier to pull them up or down.

Fred, what is the weight of your window sash? I can check if the strength is correct using the sash weight.

Hi Ben,
It?s about 26 lbs. Is it dangerous to use the 3330 option?

I would say... it's not dangerous, but the window would... have a lot of weight to it. It would pull down easier than it would pull up. Our standard recommendation is to use the option that fits the sash weight, which would be 3340 in your case.

If your old balances struggled to both lift and raise, that means the weight was probably somewhere in the middle, but the balances were jammed or tightened up. New balances will probably fix the problem even without adjusting the weight option.
