Which 1/2" window balance should I order in order to get the correct shoe? The existing shoe is 1 3/16" which would correspond to 15-003 but I don't see that shoe on any of your balances. The S-390 Option 2640 seems to have the right top but the 15-001 shoe it comes with is only 1 1/8". Is the 15-001 close enough to what I need?

Thanks for writing in. We can supply these balances for you, but they will have to be custom built. Please confirm that your old balance's metal channel, not including the nylon fittings at either end, is 27" long. Assuming this is the case, I am sending you an email with a custom link to order (2) 27" long balanced, stamp option 2640, with the 19-002 top and 15-003 Attached. The 15-003 shoe is the right width at 1 3/16" but it flares at the bottom unlike the 15-001 so the custom balances I received will not fit. It is disappointing that I went to the work of sending pictures and ordering a custom part to have it not work. I guess I will drill out the 15-003 shoes and replace them with my old ones :(

I'm sorry to hear that your balances didn't work. I'm not sure what you mean when you say that the shoe flares out at the bottom, however. Can you go into more detail? Your photos show a shoe that is 1-3/16" deep, and the 15-003 is the only shoe in this size. I see nothing in your photos that would prevent it from working.
