Window balance

Question

I have a non-tilt window that is 60"(h)x50"x0.25" and need to replace both balances.
I need 29" 5/8 diameter spiral balance.
Would the spiral balance with BLACK TIP work for me.
Please advise.

Hey there,

Thanks for writing in! Based on the description of your balance, it sounds like you'll need the S500-29. To determine the tip color you'll need to support your sash, you'll need to obtain the exact sash weight. A black tip balance can support a weight range between 31 to 40lbs. If your window weighs less than that range, the tension will be too strong for the sash.
