Thanks for reaching out with your stamp information. This helps us determine the weight of your window, but we'll still need a bit more information to identify your balance. May we see the top and bottom nylon fittings attached to your balances? Thanks.

Good morning, Kathleen. Please see attached photos. The smaller windows have the same type balances.

Thanks, and have a great day. Look forward to continuing our discussions.

Thanks for getting back to us. This balance looks like our Series 770, so we can definitely help you replace it, but your balances attach to the top of your window's jamb track in a different way. This will have to be a custom order so we can install a rivet at the top of the metal channel. The rivet allows you to use an S-clip like our 19-029 or 19-030 to attach the balance to the jamb track. There's just a little more information I need to get this started for you.

  • Can you confirm the length of the metal channel on both sets of balances?
  • The stamp codes for each balance are a bit unusual. Can you weigh each window sash? We need the exact weight of each sash so we know what stamp option you need.

From there, we should be able to get these balances made up for you. Let us know if you have any questions! Thanks.

Hi, Kathleen.sorry for the late reply, wife and I spent a few days in the Big Apple.

So, we have 7 windows that weigh 37.5 pounds with a 32" balance (32X34). Need 14 of these.
We have 6 windows that weigh 31 pounds with a 26" balance at the bottom, and a 24" balance for the top window. We need (6) 26" balances and (1) 24" balance. These are 32X29.

Finally, we have a window that is 31X24 and 26.8 pounds. Need 2 balances at 22".

Thanks for all the help.

Thank you, Daryl! I think I can help with this. Some of your balances have extra strong springs, which explains the unique stamps. Please give us a little time to confirm their availability. We hope to get back to you soon.

As for the glazing, can yous how me a picture of its end profile? That will show us the shape, which will be an essential detail. Thanks!

Okay, we finally have all the information we need to get started. I'm going to email you an order link and price quote for each of these balances. They will all have a rivet in the top hole to allow you to use your same S hook as before.

There is one catch. You had requested only 1 of the 24" balance, but I'm afraid we can only supply these in a minimum order size of 2 since it's a custom order. I hope that's okay.

You can reuse your old S clips like I mentioned, but if you wanted new ones you can purchase our 19-020 or 19-030 separately.

Tom,

Just to clarify, the balances come with the shoes, correct?

No, the Series 770 channel balance only has the metal clip at the end of the cord which itself inserts into a shoe, but the shoe is sold separately. The reason for this is because the manufacturer has used a bunch of different shoes to go with this balance over the years. There is no one match.

If you also need a shoe, we should be able to help identify it. I'll need you to remove it from the window and show me a photo of it by itself. An undamaged version would be preferable. I will also need its exact width and thickness.

Tom, did you receive the photos of the channel and shoe?

Thx-

I'm afraid I don't see it attached to your post. Can you try uploading it here again?

Quick Learner from Bolingbrook IL
Tom, the shoe is 2" X 1" X 1/2". Attaching pictures for your review. Will send channel profile separately.

Thank you! Based on this photo and your dimensions, I think our 15-135 is a good choice to start. I also note that your old shoe has a white bumper in the back, which reminds me of our 15-152. This is 9/16" thick, though. You may want to triple check your thickness just to be 100% sure. Both shoes are compatible with your balance.

As for that white strip you're showing, that's a balance cover. I'm afraid we do not sell these. I apologize for the inconvenience.
