Window balance

Question

The number stamped on the window balance I need is 2740.  I do not have it present to take a photo, but was relying on the stamped part number to get the right part.  The window was purchased in 2002 and the brand is Alenco.  It in Non-Tilt and the balance is winged.

Thanks for posting! I'm afraid I would not be able to use the stamp or the window brand to identify the replacement balance you need. In addition to the description of the top and bottom attachments, there are other details I'll need to see.

The stamp from the balance is only used to indicate the weight range a balance can hold to support the sash weight.
