Window balance

Question

Stamp on spring is 14-2 FD5 CMC 54, Metal is 15 inches long and overall length with attachments is 16 inches. Metal is 1/2 inches wide.
The balances internal hardware seems fine but they don't stay attached to the sash and keep separating from the moving sash and don't stay anchored to the window frame.
Sash weighs 6 pounds.

Thanks for posting. I believe you have either an S380-15 or S385-15. The only difference between these two channel balances is the depth of the bottom nylon shoe. See below. Measure your old balance's shoe depth to see what matches best. For a stamp option choose 1420.
