Window balance Shoe replacement

Quick Learner from South Carolina
This is the part that snapped off the bottom of the window balance. This is for a silver line window. Is it possible to just replace the shoe and not the entire balance? I am also in need of the replacement tilt latches

Sure, this shoe appears to be a match for our 15-195. Look it over and see what you think.

These just snap on and off, so they're very easy to replace without having to change the entire balance. Just note that if your shoe sustained this kind of damage, then your balance may not be far behind. It's probably in working condition for now but you should expect issues in the coming years.

Thank you for your help! Do you know what tilt latch typically couples with this for a silver line window

There could be about a million different options. I'm afraid it's not possible to identify a tilt latch without seeing the original. I'd be happy to do that for you, but I will require photos.

How can I figure it out. Here's a picture

That's a huge help, thanks! Looking at this design, I think it's very similar to our 26-393B. Your next step should be to remove the original and compare your measurements to the diagram below to ensure they match. If so, then I think it would work well for your window.

Hi there, I received my parts, and am struggling a bit with getting the new shoes into the channel. Is it best to uninstall the channel balance to install the shoe and then reinstall? Also how to get it all back in? I could not find a video that addressed this particular shoe style on your site or on YouTube

Yes, the entire balance has to be removed before you can attach the new shoe. It's not possible to put the new shoe on the old balance without taking the balance out to begin with..

As for how to get it back in, you just turn the balance sideways (so that the "ears" of the shoe are vertical, rather than horizontal) and then twist. There's not much more to it than that.

Turns out I didn't realize it, but my pivot shoes are open cam not closed and that's why I've been having so much trouble. Looks like I'm going to have to re-order the correct ones
