Window balance let window fall

Quick Learner from Beaverton, OR
I ordered the S395-27, 2650 channel balances from you and when I installed them the window just fell and the top plastic broke off. Is there a way to fix the actual window? Did I do something wrong? The top of the window was already cracked. Pictures attached.

I am able to tell that the windows you are showing us are Viking windows. It appears you need new top sash guides. Take a look at our 18-008 for possible consideration.

Paul - yes, they are Viking windows. Does 18-008 work? Is there a plastic strip that I can use as well to repair the break? Thanks!

I am afraid the broken sash rail is welded and you aren't able to replace just the piece. You would need to contact a Viking dealer directly to see if your window model is still being made to get a replacement bottom sash. Once you have replaced the top sash guide, it will take the pressure off the top rail so you can glue it to fix the appearance.
