Window balance replacement

A home owner from Leominster, Ma says:
I have several windows that require balance replacement and I can't find this part. Is it possible to use a series 775 as a replacement? I would like to replace both top and bottom sash balances. One set the rod measures 27 1/4 inches one the other 25 1/4 inches, shoe size is 1 1/4 inch. The channel they sit in is just over 1/2 inch deep and 1 1/4 inches wide.

Thanks for writing in. Yes, the Series 775 can replace these old balances. Double-check your measurements, as this should be a 1:1 replacement. If the rods are 25" and 27" respectively, then you'll need the S775-25 and S775-27. You will need to obtain the exact weight of each window sash to know what stamp options to select, along with the 1-1/4" shoe.
