Window balance replacement pulley

Handy Person from Erie, PA
The attached pictures are from a tilt block & tackle window balance. The channel measures 9/16" wide by 9/16" deep, and is 31" end to end. When the previous home owner installed brackets for blinds, they drilled and/or drove screws through the upper pulleys. This broke the cord and caused the spring to snap down and break out the lower rivet. I am looking to either repair or replace 6 balances. To repair, I am looking for 6 replacement pulley assemblies and at least 12 rivets and 1 rivet installation tool. I would also be interested in a quote for replacement balances, if available. I can be reached at 814-490-4776 if you need any further information.

Best regards,

George

Thanks for writing in! The pulleys on balances, in general, cannot be repair or replaced. In instances where the cord snaps and the spring becomes damaged, the entire balance assembly needs to be replaced.

In regard to the balances, I'm sorry to say that I am not familiar with the balance assembly you have here. To determine if there is a suitable replacement we can supply you with I'll need a bit more information about the hardware.

To start, may I see a photo of an undamaged balance removed from the window? It would also help to see photos of how it installs in the space and photos of any other hardware compatible with the balance.

Please let me know if you have any questions in the meantime.
