Window balance type

Question

My window is stuck closed. Not sure what kind of window balance system this is and how to unlock the shoe or replace the system.

Hello!

This rod-style balance isn't made anymore, but the modern Series 775 can replace it. To determine the length of your replacements, you'll want to measure the full length of the rod, including the plastic "caps" at the ends of your balance. Just make sure not to include the shoe in the length measurement. You will also need to weigh the window sash and refer to the chart under the product description on the S775 store page which will tell you what strength option is best based on the weight.
