The balancer has Certain Teed printed on it. Im afraid to remove it completely as the window already drops a few inches the way it is.

We offer the CertainTeed 15-192 pivot shoe, which uses the S170 and S171 coil springs, along with the parts listed under the related items section of the 15-192 product page. Please note that some customers have reported that they needed to shave the front of the shoe down to install it in their window jamb.

I don't know what the number stamped on the coil is. And I'm assuming there are 2 coils. If it do the conversion option so I need to know the number on the existing coils? If not, might be easier to do that as it looks like only one coil to deal with. Just need to replace the bars on the bottom of the window too. And then I'd need to do both sides so they align. This is the upper window so shouldn't get used much.

You'll need to weigh the window sash and divide the weight by the number of coils on both sides of the window. That will determine the strength options needed for your replacements, regardless of the parts you choose to go with.
