Hello,
I have several vinyl non tilt windows that open vertically with 2 channel balances that are not sliding smoothly (jerky/stiff especially when closing) and/or have one channel balance that appears broken. I have taken pictures of one of the windows to hopefully get some advice on how to select the right channel balances. For this window, the 2 channel balances do not match (one says BSI 2430 and one says BSI 2340), which may explain why one side does not close without applying a lot of force. The 2340 balance also seems to have a broken string. The glass on the window measures 23&5/16 in height. The sash weighs 17 pounds. The channel balances are 1/2" width.I think I need the S351 or the S390 series but am not sure which one. Based on the glass and weight I am thinking I should have the 2330 in one of these series.
My hope is if I can get advice on what to select for this window, I can choose the right ones for the other windows too.
Thank you,
Kevin

Hi Kevin,
I agree that It looks like you need either our S351-24, with a 15-002 bottom attachment, or S390-24, with a 15-001 bottom attachment. Take a look at the image below to determine which balance you'll need. You'll also need to know a 2330 spring strength option like you mentioned for your replacement balances. I would recommend purchasing two replacement balances to make sure your window has equal support on both sides of the sash. Thank you!
