Window channel balance and top sash guide

Question

I recently purchased several channel balances from Swisco and discovered that though the length and weight capacity is perfect; the bottom guide (foot) is different and will not allow my windows to fit back in properly. See photo; from back to front it is 7/8".

I also ordered some sash guides which turned out to be very different from the ones on my windows. They are also too large, see photo. Body dimensions: 1-3/4" ht. 1/2" width 3/8" depth Top tab is 15/16" x 5/8". Any help you could give on finding the match (series) to replace my window parts would be much appreciated. Thanks for contacting us. I believe you have a Florida Extruder window. This typically used our Series 380 in the past. I'm not sure what you ordered, but it looks like our Series 385. The difference between these two balances is the depth of the shoe. It's only a 3/32" difference, but it can make an impact. Look at our Series 380 and see what you think.

If your shoe is only 1" deep, you can either return the Series 385 you purchased and buy our Series 380, or you could shave the shoe on the new balance down until it's to size. However, keep in mind that if you shave your shoe down then you will not be able to return it for a refund.

As for the top sash guide, I think our 18-180 is a closer match. You should return the ones you bought for a refund. See our return policy for more information.
