Window clips

Handy Person from Charlotte NC

I am looking for a window clip, sash limiter. ( not positive of actual name of item)

My problem is I have an older wood window.

The window itself when you lift it up, won't stay up.

It drops down. I need something to keep the window up in case of an emergency if someone needed to crawl out of the window.

This home is a rental property. I do not want to have to replace the window.

What do you have in stock for me to buy?

Please let me know

Hello,

It sounds like you need a type of balance assembly, which are generally installed on both sides of the window and work as counterbalances to support the weight of the window sash. If the window is not staying up, the balances may need to be replaced or could be missing entirely. To determine if we carry suitable replacements, we would need to see the balance removed from the window or one from an identical window in the house. We'll relate a few videos on this page depending on the type of hardware that the window uses. If you're having trouble, feel free to get back to us with photos of your window and the side channels where the balances will be to help us determine the type of window you're working with. Thank you.
